The Curbscaping Process

Installation Process

Base Excavation : We will remove sod in the curb path to conform with the landscape curb design specified. The curb path will be leveled with sand as near as practical while considering the lay/grade of the landscape. Leveled curb path will then be compacted  with steel tamp. Any sprinkler heads in the curb path will be relocated at an additional charge of $5.00 each a the customer's option.

Curb Product Mix Design : The concrete mix consists of a standard 3 to 1 mix, 3 parts washed mortar sand to 1 part Type II Portland Cement. Shrinkage and hairline cracking will be inhibited by the addition of half inch polypropylene fiber (Fibermesh) mixed into each batch at the ratio of 1.6 oz per cubic yard.

Curb Placement : The landscape curb will be custom made on site conforming to the customer's specifications. Placement of the curb will be performed by a slip form extrusion machine that forms and compacts the concrete material. Once laid, the curb will then be steel trowelled to a smooth finish. Control joints will then be placed at a spacing of 3 feet apart.

Clean Up : Excess concrete along the front of the landscape curb will be trimmed away and cleaned up. All removed sod will be bagged in heavy duty lawn bags and placed at the customer's curb. All sidewalks and drives will be cleaned of any debris resulting from the installation of the landscape curbs. You won't even know that we worked in your yard except for the beautiful new landscape curbs!
